Abstract
In March 2015 at the section of The Russian Language of the chair of The Modern Languages at the Department of Translation at the King Saud University the Day of Russian Culture was held.The program of the Day included the photo exhibition on such topics as “The Cities of Russia”, “Astronautics”, “Sport”, “Russian Cuisine” etc. and also the exhibition of the souvenirs made in Russian folk style. In the course of this event the popular-science movie in the Arabic language about the cities of Russia was shown, and the quizzing game called “We Know and Love Russia” was organised especially for the students.At the final part of the program named “The Shrovetide Feast” the participants were offered several dishes of the Russian cuisine such as pancakes, patties and thick pancakes with different stuffing.
